Even the strongest of us have suffered pain at the hands of lifting a few boxes. Why is that? It has to do with an improper lifting technique. Here are a few tips to ensure you do not hurt your back the next time you lift items.
- Squat down to the item and then lift with your knees. Never bend at the waist.
- Do not twist your waist while lifting.
- Do not hold the item above your shoulders and keep it close to your body.
