Your First Visit

The purpose of your initial chiropractic visits with us is for us to find out what is going on with you and if our office is the right place for you to receive the care you need. Once we gather the necessary information from our consultation together and the examination procedures (First Visit) we will tell you what we have found and if we think we can help you. If not, we promise to do everything in our power to find the right place for you get the care that is best for you.

To insure your first experience with us is a pleasant one, here is what you can expect:

First Visit: Welcome to Touch of Health Chiropractic: A Creating Wellness Center (approx. 1 hour)

Upon entering our office, our receptionist will  welcome you as a member of our family.  Hopefully you will have already completed your Health Profile form ( Adult Health Profile or Children's Health Profile) located in the New Member Center and brought it with you to your first appointment. If not, we will request that you complete these forms in our office. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.

Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Kris or Dr. Melissa to talk with you about what brings you into our office and determine what your goals & objectives are for your health. We will address any current health concerns and review your past health history including past and current physical, chemical and/or emotional traumas that you may have experienced.

After your consultation, Dr. Kris or Dr. Melissa will perform any and all examination procedures to help determine the cause of your health concerns which may include: Postural and Range of Motion examinations, Computerized Nervous System Scans (Surface EMG, Thermography and Heart Wave Variability) and X-rays (if necessary).

X-Ray Studies

Depending on your specific condition, we may take X-rays as well. X-rays help us develop  the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of  any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close. In some cases, they can even identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.

Upon completion of this first visit, if we have not done so already, we will schedule your second appointment with us in which we will review the findings of your examination.

Report of Findings (approx. 30 minutes)
During this second appointment, we will explain the results of your examinations. We will tell you what we have found, how we think we can help you, how long it will take to achieve your health objectives and how much your care will cost.

Our intention for this second visit is for you to understand your current health status and to have all of your questions answered about the process of your Creating Wellness Chiropractic care here so that you can make an educated choice about beginning the program with us.

At the conclusion of your second visit, you can choose to experience care in the office. This may include a chiropractic adjustments, stretching, therapeutic exercises or and/or soft tissue massage.  Care is interactive, so  you can express concerns about the different types of adjustments anytime.

Creating Wellness Programs

Prior to leaving, the doctor will suggest a  wellness program  to incorporate outside of care.  If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include: ice or heat application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, and at home exercises and/or stretches.  If you desire, our wellness team can also create a customized wellness program for you to create healthy habits and routines for your lifestyle.  Every person is unique, therefore everyone requires a  customized wellness plan.  The purpose of our Creating Wellness program is for you  to achieve good spinal alignment, have a  healthy diet, exercise, and maintain a positive mental state.

Thank you - we look forward to seeing you and helping you Reclaim Your Life.

Review By Our Satisfied Patient

  • "We trust Kris and Melissa completely. They have been a huge help to my whole family. Melissa's prenatal care helped my baby stay in the correct position, greatly easing my birth. With my first two, they were sunny-side up, and it is no fun birthing that way! Melissa has been a huge help in assisting my recovery from a concussion. My kids see Kris for dislocated fingers, sprained ankles, sprained knee, etc. They are always right as rain within hours to a day or two. And, chiropractic has helped with my teenage daughter's process of having her food allergies cleared."
